Weekly Rewind: An entertaining double matchweek
The title races closed up even more in both divisions as we march towards the end of the season.

Setting the pace
Calgary Foothills were out of action in the Women’s Division on Friday, and St Albert Impact took full advantage to temporarily move level on points at the top of the Women’s Division. They beat Edmonton Scottish 2-0 away from home, thanks to goals from McKenna Leslie and Adalyn Fairweather, to give them their seventh win of 2025.
The Foothills followed this up on Tuesday night with a convincing 3-0 win against Calgary Villains to move them three points ahead in the title race, but having played one more game than Impact and Calgary Blizzard.
The Blizzard also remained in contention for the title after beating Calgary Rangers 3-1 on the road. Kaleigh Major opened the scoring before Grace Moore scored shortly after being subbed on. Brooklyn Colvin then made it three before half-time.
Edmonton BTB and Callies United tied 2-2 on Friday. Georgia Johnson scored early for Callies before Grayce Herrera doubled their lead from the spot. Samantha Bouchard got one back for BTB, and Adrienne Poulin completed the comeback.
It was another tie for BTB on Tuesday, who couldn’t capitalize further on Bouchard giving them the lead after 17 minutes against Edmonton Scottish. Ava Tingstad scored early in the second half to tie the game and that’s how the scoreline stayed.
Anyone’s game
Calgary Foothills were the side who benefited the most during this matchweek in the Men’s Division, after beating Cavalry U21 1-0 thanks to Jamie Nicholson’s penalty. They moved level on points with Edmonton BTB who squandered a two-goal advantage against Callies United.
BTB had a 3-1 lead with just minutes to play, before Callies scored in the 87th minute and in the third minute of stoppage time to rescue a point.
The Foothills won 4-0 against Calgary Villains on Tuesday night to make it a perfect matchweek, and BTB matched that with a 2-1 win of their own against Scottish to stay level on points and with a game in hand.
It was also an unbeaten week for Calgary Blizzard who won 2-0 at Calgary Rangers on Friday. Two first-half goals then saw the spoils shared in their Tuesday night match with Cavalry U21, but despite the dropped points, the Blizzard still remain a strong title contender.
There are now five points separating the top six teams, with the third-placed Blizzard having played the least amount of games – four less than the league leaders Foothills.
There was entertainment at Hamish Black Field on Friday as the Scottish and St Albert Impact tied 3-3. The hosts led 3-1 heading into the final moments after Rilind Idrizi, Habib Assem, and Thomas Hope looked to have secured the points, but Andrii Khymchuk got one back in the 88th minute, and Elshafi Ishaq equalized on 90+3.
