Calgary Villains to Join League1 Alberta in 2025 Season

The Villains will take to the field in the Men’s and Women’s Divisions in the next League1 Alberta campaign.

Edmonton, AB – (December 6, 2024) – The Alberta Soccer Association announced today that Calgary Villains Football Club will join the 2025 season of League1 Alberta, in both Men’s and Women’s divisions.

The Calgary club, established in 1981, is a National Youth Club License holder, and provides year-round programming for over 2,600 participants from three years of age to adults.

According to Lisa Grant, Alberta Soccer Executive Director, “The addition of Calgary Villains aligns with our goal to expand League1 Alberta in a competitive and sustainable manner”.

“We are thrilled to be joining the prestigious League1 Alberta soccer program,” said Calvin Campbell, GM of Calgary Villains FC. “This acceptance reflects our commitment to developing top-class players and providing top-tier opportunities for athletes in our region. It is a monumental step for the club, and we could not be more excited!”
