Broadcast schedule locked in for the season

The 2025 season is heating up nicely, and now’s the time to plan your watch parties as the campaign unfolds.

There are plenty of livestreams to look forward to in the 2025 League1 Alberta season, with nine matchups planned for the cameras from now through to August.

Here’s a look closer at some of the eye-catching fixtures that will be broadcast for free, live on Alberta Soccer’s YouTube channel.

The broadcast impact

It could be an interesting matchup on June 21 when St Albert Impact host Calgary Foothills at Riel Field. Currently in the Women’s Division, the two sides are first and third in the standings, but the Foothills have played an extra game. This is set to be one to watch if they can stay close to the title picture.

In the Men’s Division, St Albert have struggled at the beginning of 2025, with one win and two losses, but beat Foothills at the beginning of last season. Although Edmonton BTB, Calgary Blizzard, and Calgary Rangers are slightly ahead in the current standings, by June 21 the Foothills could be in a tight title fight, so this match could be important for them in front of the cameras.

An all-Calgary affair

Calgary Rangers host Calgary Blizzard on July 4 at Webber Athletic Park. Both these teams are in the top three of the Men’s Division standings, but three points apart after the Blizzard defeated the Rangers 2-0 last Friday. They had been neck-and-neck in the season up until this match, and the livestreamed reverse fixture could be crucial in the title race.

The Rangers have not had the best start to life in the Women’s Division, while the Blizzard sit top after three matches. At this stage, it would be a top versus bottom match, but by July 4, this local derby could provide some thrilling entertainment. With the eyes on them live on YouTube, will the pressure help or hinder the Blizzard?

A title run-in challenge

Edmonton BTB have begun 2025 unbeaten in the Men’s Division, with three wins and two ties from five matches. They struggled in 2024, coming sixth out of seven teams, but have turned things around in the offseason to set the pace early on. They face Calgary Villains on July 11, who sit bottom of the standings at this stage.

Can BTB hold their nerve during the run-in live on YouTube? Or will the Villains spoil a potential party?
