alberta to host League1 Canada Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship
The annual clash of women’s Pro-Am provincial champions will take place on Aug. 8 and 10 in Sherwood Park.

Toronto, ON – (June 6, 2025) – League1 Canada today announced its 2025 Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship will be hosted in Sherwood Park, Alta. on Aug. 8 and 10.
The annual competition brings together the women’s provincial champions from League1 Alberta, Ligue1 Québec, League1 Ontario and League1 BC, with the winner crowned national champion of Canada’s Division III leagues.
This year marks the fourth edition of the Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship and the first time it will be held in Alberta.
“We’re thrilled to bring the Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship to Sherwood Park for the first time,” said Dino Rossi, President, League1 Canada. “This tournament is a celebration of the incredible talent and progress in women’s soccer across the country. Alberta has become a key part of the League1 Canada ecosystem, and hosting this event here reflects our commitment to growing the game nationwide and creating meaningful opportunities for athletes to compete at all levels.”
The tournament format remains consistent with previous years. Two semifinal matches will be played on Friday, Aug. 8, followed by the third-place match and the championship final on Sunday, Aug. 10. A draw to determine semifinal matchups will take place at a later date.
“Bringing this national competition to Sherwood Park is a major milestone for our province and a reflection of the growth and ambition within our soccer community,” said Lisa Grant, Executive Director, Alberta Soccer. “It’s an opportunity to showcase Alberta’s talent, infrastructure, and passion for the game, while inspiring the next generation of players and fans across the province.”
Launched in 2022, the Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship is a cornerstone of League1 Canada’s mission to unify, elevate, and expand Pro-Am soccer across the country. Previous champions include A.S. Blainville of Ligue1 Québec in 2022 and Vancouver Whitecaps FC Girls Elite Academy of League1 BC in 2023 and 2024, respectively.
