League1 Alberta’s top scorers claim MVP honours in 2025 awards

Noah Lechelt and Avril Jamieson are the season’s Most Valuable Players in L1AB as the end-of-season award winners are revealed.

Although her side missed out on the Women’s Division title, Avril Jamieson had a summer to remember for Calgary Foothills and picked up three accolades in the 2025 League1 Alberta end-of-season awards.

Alongside the MVP and Top Goal Scorer honours after her 10 goals in 14 games, she was named as one of three winners of the Best Young Players award. The striker’s trusted teammate, Sarah Bach, also picked up the Goalkeeper of the Year prize after the Foothills conceded just seven goals in 14 games.

Calgary Blizzard’s Addison White was also named as one of the Best Young Players as she helped her side win the title, and so too was St. Albert Impact’s Adalyn Fairweather who netted six times in the summer.

The Men’s Division Most Valuable Player, Noah Lechelt, was another player who finished as a runner-up in the league but had a mightily successful individual season. He picked up the top goalscorer award with a brilliant 20 goals in 16 games for St. Albert Impact and displayed a level above the rest in front of goal.

The main man between Calgary Foothills’ sticks was also influential for his team this year, and as a result, Samuel Dilitz won the Best Goalkeeper award. He was a big part in the Foothills conceding just 20 goals all season – the best record in the league – and their fourth-placed finish.

The three Best Young Players of the year all came from different teams, as Thomas Stuber of Cavalry U21, Tao Hein of Edmonton BTB, and Calgary Blizzard’s Spencer McCallum were all recognized.

Following another competitive season in League1 Alberta, this year’s MVP and Best Young Player award winners were decided by votes from club coaches. The Top Goal Scorer titles were given to the leaders in the scoring charts, and the two Best Goalkeepers were the shot-stoppers with the best ratios of goals conceded per game.
