Weekly Preview: Battling for a spot at the Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship
It’s second versus third in the Women’s Division’s title race, as Edmonton BTB look to improve on their three-point lead in the Men’s Division.

Take your pick
Just two points separate first and third in the women’s competition, with each of the sides approaching their final three games of 2025. Calgary Foothills top the pile but don’t have a match this weekend; Calgary Blizzard, however, face St Albert Impact at Broadview Park, with the winner heading top with two games remaining.
There’s more than just silverware on the line, as the winners of the division will compete in the League1 Canada Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship here in Alberta this August.
Edmonton BTB are now out of reach of the top three, sitting 10 points away from Impact with nine points to play for. They host the Scottish in an all-Edmonton affair with the visitors looking to end the season on a positive note following a difficult 2025.
The final Friday fixture sees Calgary Rangers on the road to face Calgary Villains. Either side could improve their position in the standings with a victory, but inconsistency this season means the top three are too far away.
Searching for silverware
Edmonton BTB currently hold top spot in the Men’s Division, but Calgary Blizzard are on the hunt with three games in hand. They host St Albert Impact on Friday night in a bid to pile the pressure on both BTB and Calgary Foothills above them. Winning their remaining games would mean the Blizzard would become champions, so the goal is set.
BTB are in action themselves when they welcome Edmonton Scottish to Jasper Place Bowl. The hosts will know that the Blizzard have the best opportunity, so they must focus on the task at hand and make the most of what they can control.
The Foothills in second are without a game, but the all-Calgary affair between the Villains and the Rangers could be an entertaining one. The former are without a point this season and will want to prove a point in their final home game against their city counterparts.
Cavalry U21 travel to Callies United on Friday, and are in action again on Tuesday at home against the Blizzard. After sitting out last matchweek, they now have their chance to boost their points tally.
